Region Director - Asia and Africa

The main responsibility is to lead experienced, on-the-ground Directors in these two continents who directly work with several Partner entities in each country of operations. The entities are legally separate, locally incorporated and have their own Boards.

  • The appointee will report to HQ USA-based VP for Global Programs

  • He/She will regularly travel to global offices and flexible to work beyond usual office hours to accommodate different time zones of all stakeholders

  • The likely hire is expected to be strong in Business Development which means a keen eye to spot new opportunities where the organization can be a value-adding Partner connector

  • Ideally, the successful appointee is a proven Leader and “organization person” who has by now been able to work in leadership roles in the Philippines as well as outside the country.

  • Comfortable dealing with various Nationalities and cultures

  • He/ she can come from “for-profit organizations” in leadership roles & could make a shift due to his/her capability to work with & across global teams in programs related to Donor engagement.

  • Equal interest will be given to a candidate who owns strong networking & people engagement skills due to having worked with “non-profits” or “corporate foundations”. A people connector.

  • Either way, the holder of this position must be a quick study. Integrating swiftly the charity organization’s framework. Understanding dynamics of Operations as well as Deliverables. Results-oriented.

  • Of critical importance is High Integrity.

What We Seek: Executive Director

Reports to: Chairman of the Board & President

Main Task:

  • Supports & assists the President of the Association in attainment of the year’s key performance indicators set as target goals by the Board of Trustees.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare regular reports for the Board of Trustees on the Operations of the Association as well as Annual Reports to the stockholders during annual meetings

  • As directed by the President, signs all contracts, agreements, checks and other documents in connection with the operation of the Association; acts as official representative and spokesperson of the Association

  • Assists the President in the general supervision of all Managers & Supervisors of the Association

The appointment may be generally administrative in nature but the position is one of trust, respectability and credibility.

To be truly suitable, the successful appointee will need to present a verifiable track record as a successful Corporate Executive with P&L responsibility and who has proven managerial abilities in leading a sizeable work force to achieve revenue targets; or, a respectable, skilled and experienced Political Leader who understands how the Public Sector works and who has maintained a decent, approachable network of contacts.

It goes without saying, the position must be held only by a “people person”, an “Enabler” who is engaging, an influencer and predisposed to seek community of thought in order to get things done. A real workhorse who can work with & through many levels of internal and external stakeholders.

Process-wise, the aim is to identify the best possible candidate mid-2019.
