Position Summary:

This critical role will be based in Manila, Philippines, and report directly to the Executive Director, Global Corporate Controller in the U.S. Key aspects of the Executive Director, Finance Shared Services position include the following:

     

Provide strategic leadership, oversight, and management of the Finance Shared Services organization (includes the financial accounting, operations, planning and analysis functions within the CFO Organization) of approximately 60 individuals based in Manila;

     

Deliver efficient and cost effective transaction processing services in alignment with established quality standards and performance metrics, as well as providing strategic support and analysis;

     

Drive transformation and change with a strong focus on continuous improvement and exceptional client service in order to ensure the success of this support model;

     

Function as a key executive within the Companys CFO Organization, interfacing with other senior officers across DTCCs businesses and other shared services support functions;

     

Gain exposure to an evolving segment of the financial services industry in the worlds leading financial market infrastructure company, while providing unique business solutions to solve key challenges for its member/owners.

The position will require a strong leader with demonstrated success managing a finance shared services team supporting multiple legal entities, both in the U.S. and internationally. The incumbent will ideally have a balance of finance/accounting knowledge and financial operations experience. A Chartered Accountant, or equivalent, with a mix of Big 4 and private company experience preferred. He/she must be able to think strategically and operate tactically (i.e., possess a high level of finance operations competency, and also be an innovative thinker having strategic perspective). The incumbent will have a successful track record developing and empowering high-performance teams, while functioning as a role model who encourages staff to take initiative and be accountable. He/she must have strong collaboration, partnering and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with management across the organization. Relatedly, the candidate will need to be flexible in order to accommodate a matrix reporting structure, given that the various finance functions that he/she will be overseeing are functionally owned by DTCC colleagues/counterparts operating in geographic jurisdictions beyond Manila.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

Global direction, coordination and leadership of the Manila Finance Shared Services team, including the following:

     

Overseeing financial operations support activities including financial accounting, financial operations (accounts payable, billing, credit/collections) and financial, planning, & analysis;

     

Establishing and managing productivity and performance service level agreements, key performance indicators, and dashboard reports for the Finance Shared Services team; ensuring metrics are captured and reported to senior management; benchmarking against best-in-class to drive competitive performance;

     

Providing subject matter expertise on business requirement definition, process design, implementation of process and organizational changes, and timing of impacted processes across all teams;

     

Monitoring the Manila Finance teams day-to-day processing activities related to the functions;

     

Analyzing business processes, identify opportunities, and driving projects to further improve department processes and systems, with a specific focus on quality, efficiency, responsiveness, cost containment, standardization of work, and automation;

     

Sustaining performance through changing circumstances such as process changes, system upgrades, or the integration of an acquisition; understanding and applying best practices to successfully embed changes;

     

Serving as a liaison to internal finance functions to ensure customer needs are met;

     

Partnering with business and finance leadership globally;

     

Co-managing the Companys relationship with external auditors in Manila;

     

Ensuring compliance with all internal accounting policies and procedures required to produce complete and accurate financial results impacted by work teams;

     

Creating and implementing internal controls and procedures to identify, resolve and document key finance process issues;

     

Ensuring control and process issues are resolved in a timely and acceptable fashion;

     

Assembling, building, developing, maintaining, and transforming a highly engaged Manila team by leveraging strengths of current finance team members, as well as helping to clarify roles and responsibilities within the group; developing and implementing appropriate training to maximize performance in the pursuit of individual and organizational goals;
